we finally met!

.....for the second time! I know this might be shocking to you, but that's the truth! I and Harman have only met face2face twice!

We (finally) met in Dailybread cafe, located at Discovery Mall, Kuta, Denpasar, Bali. Elaborated enough? We met in the morning, after I woke Harman up by calling his cellphone. (sorry.. hehehe)

What did we do? well, simply just sat at the cafe, and then took a walk along the mall..

and then...

the TOUR! The TOUR around Denpasar!

hahahahahhahahaha..Not exactly a tour. Harman offered to take me back to the hotel (together with my friends), but then.. Hahahaha. It turned out that Harman got the wrong hotel. I stayed at Kuta Beach Club but he spotted Inna Beach Club or something?? Then as the result he browsed through Kuta.. Hehehe..

But thank's anyway for the tour! Hahahahaha.

And oh yeah, please congratulate our mister here in jakartadenpasar, (none other but Harman) who just had his girlfriend!!!

And i'm left behind. Sigh. I can't take this!!

Jakarta is harsh, baby...

This is a blogpost made by friend, lewi a.k.a aga. The post can also be found in his blog. I translated his post into English here.

This is Jakarta honey,...

Translation :

This is Jakarta honey..
The mother (capital) of the country is far more harsh than a step mother!
And the annoying fact is, I was born here. I live, breath, study, and defecate here.

My sarcastic thinking about the capital city which is getting worse day by day is like this :

Jakarta is very bad! She can eat everything existing! If you’re not strong enough, you won’t survive!

Jakarta is the paradise of world and the hell of sin! What you hope is what you got. But it you can’t take control of yourself, you’ll fall to the eighteenth floor of hell. And don’t even hope you will come out!

Never believe people easily. There’s no one who wants to support you here, let me say it again, NO ONE!

The only thing you can do is : be a lion like they do. That’s the point. That’s the principle.Take that to mind!

I hope my translation is good enough so Lewi won’t get mad of me putting his blogpost here.

Is Jakarta that bad? Well, I guess every metropolitan city is. You don’t live together in harmony. You compete. You backstab. You’re aiming for the best, no matter what. Say that again, no matter what.
But why?
You won’t survive in the mundane Jakarta by being an innocent, naive, and kind people.
You won’t. Maybe the only thing you will do is being a trash-picker, or in Indonesian, pemulung.
Your inner heart might be shouting to you, commanding you to do good things, to be honest, to be nice.
Everyone does good things here in Indonesia. They are nice.
But, in the back....?
There you go.
The temptation is just too high. Or maybe I must say, the obligation. Seeing people around you get “high” things and you still stuck with boring things while being nice and kind?
Nah-uh. Nay nay nay. No way.
Jakarta is harsh, baby...
Am I going to live here all my life?

Shiny Jakarta...

Jakarta's weather has been very freaky these days. In the daytime, it was very hot and bright, like this :

Image hosting by Photobucket
(photo taken from inside my car, Kijang Innova. I was on my way to chemistry lesson)

And in the night, it rained hard.. Really hard. And plus, it was windy. And the wind was very chilling. Damn. What a freaky weather. No wonder many of my friends got sick.

How's Denpasar doing, Harman? Gee I want to go to the beach immediately.. *sigh*

!the introduction!read it first!

Hello y’all looking at this page.. Thank you for visiting us! Thank you for sparing your precious time to look at our blog.. (Am I being hyperbolic?)
The 1st post of a blog is always an introduction, rite? So, I’m gonna introduce myself, and the blog, in the end.
My name is Sylvia. Soon-to-be 17. Still studying in high school, currently in the last grade. And I’m in Science program although I’m so not into science. I love reading, from comics to dictionaries. (yea, I mean it) I like to stay tune to the current affairs, and not so into those celebrity-gossip-and-so-on thingy. Oh well, I think that’s enough about me. If you wish to know me (and Harman a.k.a Shiroa) more, please just visit our friendster (navigations on the right side) or our joint biodata.. =)
Okay, now about the blog. This blog was made to give you information about Jakarta and Denpasar, the towns in which we live in. Since we’re still students, it’s from a student’s point of view. And again, because we’re still students; please forgive us for any bad photographs. We’re not photographers for sure. But we’ll always try our best to give you the best. (Hey, today there is GOOGLE, anyway..)
We’ll tell you about what happened in Jakarta and Denpasar. The hustle-bustle. The weather. The traffic jam. The people. And so on. We will also (hopefully, frequently) review some nice places for you to go. All, again *hee hee*, from a student’s point of view. Oh yeah, maybe we’ll post things about our schools here.
This blog is actually dedicated for international viewers, and that’s why we make this blog in English although we are purely Indonesian. (ah yes, ethnically we’re Chinese. But we were born and raised in Indonesia) Maybe the ones who are planning to go on holiday in Indonesia? But we also dedicate this blog to the people abroad who want to know the newest things about Jakarta and Denpasar. And actually, a person abroad is the one that inspired me to make a blog containing information and the latest news about Jakarta (and Denpasar, later on). Special thank’s for Aswin. =D
And for the people who don’t know what Jakarta and Denpasar are, or don’t know what Indonesia is, relax. I’m gonna explain it now.

What the f**k is Jakarta? What the f**k is Denpasar? In Indonesia? Where is Indonesia?

Hmm. Okay. I guess I better start by explaining Indonesia first. Just a brief explanation. Because I’m not an expert in Geography. Indonesia is a country in South East Asia. It has tropical climate, the sun is shining the whole year! Oh yeah, please, it’s Indonesia not Donisia or Indon or Indones or other stupid names that real people really mentioned to me. (I meant it, you know. There were people that mentioned those when I talked about my country) .And please, don’t confuse Indonesia with Bali. Bali is a part of Indonesia, not the way around. Stop boasting with the I-know-all tone that Indonesia is a part of Bali. Hell no! In English, you can pronounce ‘Indonesia’ een-duh-nee-sha or een-duh-nay-sha. But actually in Indonesian we pronounce it een-doe-nay-see-uh. Well, not exactly like that, but closely like that. Oh yeah, our language is Bahasa Indonesia, not just "bahasa", because actually bahasa is the Indonesian word for language! Anyway, Indonesia is a large country, consisting of thousands of islands (I meant it, thousands!). It has a large variety in race, culture, and language (dialects to be specific). I’m proud to say that Indonesia has the largest variety of culture in the world.
Jakarta, the city I live in, is the capital city of Indonesia. And just like another capital cities of any countries in the world, it’s a metropolitan city. You know, the one with many skyscrapers and malls. Jakarta is very big. And it’s got all, complete. Well, except for fresh air, maybe. Isn’t that a problem of any big cities? Pollution pollution pollution! But actually, it’s very cold inside high buildings in Jakarta. In fact, it could be freezing sometimes. Well, did I say about how big Jakarta is? So big that you should take your personal car everywhere because the public transportation can’t reach all parts of Jakarta. So big that there is a possibility that the Jakarta citizens themselves never went around Jakarta. (for example? Me!)
But after all, Jakarta is a nice place to live for you who likes the big city atmosphere. Come to Jakarta!

Stay tune for the latest news about Jakarta! (and Denpasar)

Sweet kiss,
Sylvia

What shall I say??? Sylv, gw mesti mulai darimana yaa???

Hrmm, hmm, tes tes, 1 2 3, 1 2 3...

Ok2...

Shall I start with History of Bali? Gw mana tau?? XP

First of all... Bali, which has a population summed up to about 3-4millions people (the biggest growth rate was in 1998, due to the national riot, Jakarta, May 98 ) is a culture based island, it has all traditional laws applied in every section of the people daily activities...

For me, I was born in Denpasar, the Capital city and the most populated city lies at the very south part of the island. Personally, I feel so attached to this place, since I found out that no single place in the world other than here that I can proudly call HOME...

Bali offers you (cieeh, promosi ni XP) a bunch of places to go and to see, it has many (i really mean many places to go to), well, starting with... umm.. (gw bingung banget kalo disuruh nentuin parameter XD) pantai kuta, ampe hmm.. lovina... All are lovely places with great views... Gw dulu ga ngerti kenapa orang2 / turis2 (domestic atau int'l) seneng banget ama Bali... Tp after all my experinces of visiting few (baru brapa kali koq XP) countries, gw baru ngerti betapa unique-nya Pulau ini... I missed everything I could remember
bout this Island, ampe macet2nya atau semrawutnya jalan2, atau ngawurnya para pengendara speda motor maupun angkot2, to the beaches, where I used to play soccer together with my schoolmates, back there...

to be continued...
